We invite you to have your say and participate in Workforce Project Consultations!


The continued development of the Queensland Tourism Workforce Crisis Resilience and Recovery plan is a joint initiative by The University of Queensland, in partnership with Queensland Tourism Industry Council, in response to the current workforce environment faced by the Tourism Industry.


The project is inviting your input and providing a chance for you to voice your thoughts on the current employment challenges within your region and share any ideas on moving forward.


On Tuesday 11th of October at Cobb & Co Museum, 27 Lindsay Street, Toowoomba, Southern Queensland Country Tourism will be hosting this information and consultation workshop across a working lunch from 12:00pm - 2:00pm. We are very keen to receive input and ideas from:

  1. Industry stakeholders (councillors/council employees, representatives from regional tourism organisations/local tourism organisation, peak body organisations, educators, infrastructure bodies e.g., airport etc.,)
  2. Operators (business owners and senior managers) and,
  3. Employees (up to supervisory level).


These sessions will give us the opportunity to share our latest research findings, with industry implications, around:-

  • Employee, volunteer and organizational resilience
  • Take away insights from previous workshops
  • Sharings from workers who left the tourism industry amid COVID-19.
