As we step into a busy season for tourism in Queensland Country, I’m writing to you from Singapore, where we are showcasing our region alongside the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers at Gardens by the Bay. This event has provided an invaluable platform to connect with trade buyers, agents, and wholesalers across Southeast Asia. |
Our Trade Manual and product samples have allowed us to represent all of our trade-ready operators who couldn’t make the trip, ensuring Queensland Country stays top of mind for key tourism industry players. Follow our journey on LinkedIn for live updates!
Last night, we had the privilege of hosting a dinner with 10 top trade agents, as well as Singapore Airlines and Qantas executives. Held at Cenzo, the Queensland-inspired menu, curated by Southern Downs-born head Chef Drew Nocente, and paired with Granite Belt wines, was a testament to the exceptional culinary experiences we offer in Queensland Country. It was an incredible evening that strengthened relationships and showcased the best of what we bring to the table. |

In line with global tourism events, the recent Global Wine Tourism Conference provided insights that resonate strongly with us. The conference focused on combining cultural heritage with innovation—something that aligns perfectly with our own Southern Downs and Granite Belt regions. The global push toward experience-driven tourism presents an exciting opportunity for our wine tourism experiences, with a focus on connecting visitors to the stories behind the wine. This is an area we plan to grow and innovate further, drawing more visitors to explore our wineries and immerse themselves in our region’s rich history.
I’d like to extend a warm congratulations to Ballandean’s St Judes Vineyard for securing funding through the Growing Future Tourism program. This significant investment will help develop a luxury food, wine, and accommodation experience that will further position Queensland Country as a premier destination. We look forward to the continued growth and success of this exciting new venture.
As we prepare for the spring holiday season, we are aware that operators are facing mixed conditions, with challenges like rising costs and recruitment difficulties. However, it’s promising to see that nearly two-thirds of businesses are holding steady, and some even expect better bookings than last year. Our team remains committed to supporting you through these challenges, so please don’t hesitate to reach out for assistance.
Thank you for your ongoing dedication to making Queensland Country a standout destination. Together, we will continue to overcome challenges and embrace opportunities, ensuring a prosperous future for our region. |
