It is with great pride and anticipation that I reflect on our recent announcement of Queensland Country Tourism’s bold new chapter with the launch of our new brand. This rebrand truly embodies the heart and soul of Queensland Country, celebrating the essence of our region and strengthening our role within Queensland’s vibrant tourism landscape. |
|
|
Our tagline, “We all need a little country,” invites visitors to pause, reconnect, and experience the many offerings of our region—from the rugged beauty of the Central Queensland Highlands to the tranquil vineyards of the Granite Belt. As we shared at the launch event, “This fresh branding truly captures the heart of Queensland Country… strategically positioning us as a hero destination in Queensland for both travellers and investors.”
We are immensely proud of what we’ve achieved so far, and this is just the beginning. Our brand aligns seamlessly with our Destination Management Plan for 2032, guiding us toward sustainable growth and impactful, long-term management. Together, we will continue to showcase the treasures of Queensland Country, ensuring that every visitor leaves with unforgettable memories.
I’d also like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ballandean Estate, who recently won an impressive array of awards at the 40th Annual Queensland Wine Awards, including Winery of the Year and Winemaker of the Year for Boxi Zhen. This achievement is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the exceptional quality of their wines. Congratulations to Leanne Puglisi-Gangemi, Angelo, Boxi, Robyn Robertson, and the entire Ballandean Estate team.
We’re also beyond thrilled to share that Sancerre Estate & View Wine attended the Queensland Wine Awards, where three vintages of their Alvarinho were proudly judged—and the results are in! They took home two Golds, one Silver, and were awarded Champion Wine of Provenance.
We’re incredibly proud to see our region’s wineries consistently shining on the awards stage. It’s always wonderful when our local wineries share these triumphs with us, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to everyone contributing to the success of Queensland’s exceptional wine region. Cheers to more amazing achievements ahead!
Lastly, a reminder that DestinationQ is just around the corner. This annual event will be held on Thursday, 14 November 2024, at Queen’s Wharf, Brisbane. It’s a wonderful chance for us to come together to recognise achievements, explore new opportunities, and celebrate our shared successes in Queensland’s tourism industry. Our team will be there, and we look forward to connecting with many of you.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the launch and to our incredible partners, including Publicis Worldwide, who helped bring this inspiring brand to life. As Queensland’s tourism industry aims to grow to $44 billion by 2032, Queensland Country is ready to play a central role. This new brand is a powerful beginning for our region, and I am confident it will attract new visitors and bring familiar faces back to rediscover the heart of Queensland Country.
Let’s continue to share our beautiful region and its stories with the world. After all, we all need a little country. |
