As we enter a season of growth and celebration in Queensland’s tourism industry, I’d like to highlight some key opportunities and milestones.

The Tourism Business is a significant initiative currently available to support our industry. With up to $2,500 in rebates, this program can help businesses enhance their digital presence, from improving websites to boosting social media engagement. If you haven’t yet applied, I strongly encourage you to take advantage of this straightforward application process. This program is part of a broader strategy to position Queensland as a leading destination, with a goal of reaching $44 billion in annual visitor spend by 2032.

Our team is finalising preparations for next month’s trip to Singapore, where we will be joining Toowoomba Regional Council as they showcase the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers at the world-renowned 'Gardens by the Bay'. This event is a unique opportunity for trade-ready businesses to connect with major buyers and wholesalers from across Asia. If you haven’t yet registered, there’s still time to join us on this incredible journey. Ensure your product information is up to date in our Trade Manual, and let us know if you’d like us to take any physical products (ie, Wine, processed foods, merchandise) to share with potential partners.

This month also brings about important anniversaries in our region. Cobb & Co. is commemorating 100 years since the last run of their iconic coach, with events planned from August 14-17 to celebrate this historic milestone. Additionally, Toowoomba’s, 'Carnival of Flowers' is marking its 75th anniversary with a fantastic lineup of events and activities that showcase the best of our region. We hope you can join in the celebrations and support these historic milestones. Please join me in congratulating Cobb & Co. and the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers on these remarkable achievements.
