Over the coming week, our Southern Queensland Country Tourism team is excited to work alongside Hannah Statham from Media Mortar. We're engaging with our members and council partners to shape the new Queensland Country brand, an exciting branding development representing our region in the tourism market. For those who haven't yet had a chance to participate, I encourage you to  for a consultation session soon, as we're nearing the conclusion of this phase.

Additionally, we're gearing up for another key initiative: the Destination Management Plan (DMP), are starting February 13th, and will be held across the region. Krista Hauritz + Tourism + Events + Marketing will be guiding us through this process. This plan is not just a strategy document; it integrates into the TEQ Blueprint, incorporates significant data and research, and most importantly, is shaped by the feedback from our local tourism industry and Council partners. This is why your participation is so crucial. The plan is fundamental to directing our activities as your tourism representative and will also influence funding and infrastructure support for the next three years. If you haven’t registered yet, please take a moment to do so and encourage your colleagues to attend these free sessions.

Finally, I'd like to extend my congratulations to the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers for their outstanding achievement in 2023. The recent TEQ numbers show that this event has set new records in attendance and economic impact, reflecting its growing significance and appeal. This year, we witnessed an unprecedented number of visitors, totaling over 400,000, a significant increase from the previous year. The event also saw a substantial rise in visitor nights and a new record in direct and incremental spending. This success is a testament to the event's appeal and the hard work of everyone involved.
